The Julian Way Goes to the Midwest: Day 4 July 05 2015

This summer, as The Julian Way goes on a pilgrimage to live, learn and discover in our continued journey to create intentional community for people of all embodiments, we invite you to come along for the ride!

Today, we hit the road again, this time making our way northeast to Chicago. Our first stop in Chicago is the Reba Place Fellowship, an intentional community made up of several residential houses and apartments within a three or four block area in two different centers in Chicago. The Clearing, a beautiful old home in Evanston, IL which was added to the Reba Place Fellowship in 1972. After having dinner with several of the residents and hearing their stories, we had the opportunity to connect with David Janzen for a time of mutual encouragement and wisdom-seeking conversation. Needless to say, it's been a full day all the way around with much for us to process and share in the coming days. For now, we'll just leave you with some pictures of The Clearing, including proof to all those naysayers about making homes accessible, that yes, with a little ingenuity, creative thinking, and resource sharing, it can be done!
